How much force is needed to shatter a mirror inside of an enclosure???....i mean.....i am building 2 same size enclosures(15x15) then gonna have an closed chamber showin off subs in the middle of the two boxes....i wanna put a mirror at the back of the closed chamber...will the force of the subs shatter that mirror????or what do i have to do with the mirror to make it last??? any comments are welcome.....thanx ------------- If it has tits or tires it will give ya problems.....

sorry guys this is a 97 f150 extended cab full back seat taken out using FULL extended cab area

I wouldn't go more than 30% higher than the mirror's rated shattering force - that's the usual design margin.
You could go higher depending on the mounting method and hence maximum "air pocket" dimensions behind the mirror.
Just check of the mirror is rated in RMS or peak etc.
You can then convert you max speaker SPL (and compensate for enclosure attenuation or concentration etc).

just place a mdf board behind the mirror and it wont break, in essence the mirror is just glass, the alternatives if u cant place something behind it is to get a mirror made out of like 7mm glass which will be strong, or get a plexi glass mirror. id be amazed if you managed to shatter a mirror that was mounted properly. and not using something like a resonate frequency

good luck, i suggest you plan twice and make one its easier to change a drawing then a box

At Auto stores they have a plastic mirror sheet...
May not be what you're looking for, but it wouldn't shatter...
