I built a box from 1/2" MDF then fiberglassed the entire inside. I want to carpet the outside and seal it somehow from moisture. I have some leftover fiberglass resin and a crappy little paint roller.

I have a feeling it would work OK, but would I be able to roll on the resin and use that as an adhesive for my carpet? Sort of a two birds with one stone deal. (plus I don't have to buy anything else!) I'm planning on rolling it on thin so I don't think soak thru would be an issue.

Anyway, I guess my question is would this work? I'm cutting some plexi to cover the ends of the box so all I need to do is wrap the 4 easy sides. I should have plenty of working time with the resin I would think...

Thanks for looking!

Carpeting and fiber glassing over the carpet WOULD work but wouldn't look good at all. You can resin the out side of the box and then carpet over it. Or just pick up some rhino liner and skip carpeting it.
