Would it be possible to make a replica of the center console in my Suburban using fiberglass? I was thinking I could cover it in tape and than copy it a section at a time. I know I couldn't put it over the whole thing because then I wouldn't be able to get the fiberglass off. Any suggestions on a way to do it better would be appreciated.

Remove the console and mask it off. Draw a line around the console from front to back, then glue a piece of 14 awg wire to the line. Wax or silicone spray the console and start glassing as smooth as possible up to the edges of the wire. After it is cured, pull the mould off and smooth the inside of the two halves with fine sand paper and bondo if required. Next, after using release wax, glass the insides of the two peices. When done, pull plugs out the glass them together from the inside and bondo the seam. Smooth it out and wrap if the bolt it into the car!

for the amount of time and material it would cost you to make a copy of it , it would be more economical to go to a junk yard and get a replacment and cut that one up.
or even just start from scratch. that way you have no worries on ruining the old one and if you mess it up you dont have to make another copy.
