if I wanted to just take out the back seats petition off the trunk where the back seats back rest would be. And mount my subs there. How could I make the entire trunk a sealed enclosure?

I was thinking. A lot of expansion foam, deadener, maybe silicone/latex, and perhaps even like cement. or liquid asphalt/tar.

is there a conventional way of going about doing this or should I just trust my instincts? haha.

I won't be concerned about any permanent damage done to the car. Just wanna be loud. don't car if it's ugly or not. And as a side note I'm just hypothetically speaking. Any help would be appreciated and thanks.

It is important to match the trunk volume to the sub(s).

well ... yeah. ... I know. I'll either be running my 15 inch L7's or 18 inch Havocs. something like this. when the time comes. so. I plan to give my L7's 5000+ watts until they pop then upgrade. that's my general idea. i'm thinking Havoc 18's and see how they fair. it's all hypothetical.

you wouldn't believe the stories I could tell you about these L7's in infinite baffle comp situations that the previous owners of these subs have told me, so. i'm not even going to bother.

but anyways. back on track. my question is about how to make an entire trunk a speaker box. I'm aware of necessary box volume. thank you.

well unless you are prepared to weld the trunk shut, there is nothing you can do to completely seal the trunk. no matter what you do it will still not be as good as a proper wooden sealed box.

Lots of ways to go about this... How much work are you really wanting to do? and with L7s that's not a big deal... in fact you should need your whole trunk unless you have a micro car or something... what is the vehicle?
