I was wondering how do you guys figure volume and achieve the proper volume required by the sub with odd shaped enclosures? How precisely do you adhere to the cubic feet required? Thanks.

you can use styrofoam peanuts. if you are makeing a box that is mostly MDF and say the subs will be coming out of the box, just make the MDF part a little smaller, say 1/2 cubic foot(for 2 subs). the opposite if they are going to look pushed in. as long as you are pretty close on a sealed box you are usually ok. for a ported box it is a little more important to be more exact, due to the port tuning.

You can  also use water to be perfectly exact, When doing most fiberglass installs I take some everglass and mix it with resin (20% everglass 80% resin) mix it up real good and pour it on the inside of the enclosure and swish it around for stiffening and sealing . When you use water or sand to calculate volume it is also a good way to find out how airtight or leak proof your glass job is. Just make sure if you have MDF inside the box to either use sand or if using water make sure you have covered it with enough resin so it doesn't swell up on you.
