I'm in the marker for a quality pneumatic sprayer to use for applying paint, primer, sound deadening liquid, fiberglass resin, and anything else.  Should I just look for a basic sprayer and get different nozzles?

I use 4 separate spray guns, 2 for paint and primer, one for glue, and another for any misc. Snap On and Matco carry some of the best paint guns, pricey but worth it if you are going to do a lot of painting. For your other uses check out www.selectproducts.com they have some good quality stuff as well.
