Well auto zone for $13.00 has some fiberglass and resin, then you need  some free paint stir sticks from home depot,  and $0.45 paint brushes and you can use anything as a mixing cup as long as you do not mind throwing it away. I do not use the bondo spreaders for fiberglass, I have found that a paint brush works better, and you just throw it away afterwards also.

I should put my kit together and sell it, it is cheaper.

so for a trunk custom job, how much fiberglass and resin would be needed to start off with? 1 gal, 5 gal or 10 gal resin? 5, 10 or 20 yds of FG cloth?

anyone?

depends on how big of a job.

Depends on the job, size, layers for strength, that kind of stuff, I would say probably about 2 gallons of resin, and probably  4 packages of 8 square feet mat.

That is my guess.

buy polyester trunk liner, by the yard. it will dry up to 1/4 thick. cut down on the time and money spent on mat or fleece.

if you want the box to be strong then you have to use glass. 1.5 oz chop mat works well and is pretty cheap.

you can add chop mat later on top of the stretch material. go to a auto paint and body shop that sells to shops. you might not be able to . see if they sell to the public, then try and get it. its excellent for forming shapes and stretching over molds.
