I am new with this fibeglass and am going to put my tweeters up in the a piliars. I have seeen some great picks of others doing this procedure using a piece of thin wood glued to the pilliar holding the tweeter mounting cup and then putting pantyhoses over the intire area for the fibeglass to set and makes a great factoy clean look. What type of resin do I use with the fiberglass and will i need any hardener sorry its my first time! Thanks Kris
any other Advice would be great!!!!

BELIEVE!!
Polyester resin, MEKP is the hardener (1-2%)
You might want to use something thicker than pantyhose (Like fleece) so your finished part comes out srrong enough. Practice fiberglassing on something less expensive than your car before you tackle you A-Pillars.

sorry about that i mean't to say make sure you us ployester reasin and some think fleece
a tshirt type material would work great. i have used thin cotton shirts and stuff to make small things. works great

dream it, build it, fiberglass it
pantyhose would probably not be a good choice because there is alot of rubber like material in panty hose...(spandex like) because resin will eat through rubber if there is a large enough percentage of it...so try to keep it to a mainly cotton/fleece material...i ususally use material that is about 95% cotton, 5% spandex, that way it is stretchy but does not have enough rubber to react with the resin
...ever noticed resin can get HOT when mixed up...well ever noticed that happens to Spandex when it gets hot...
Thanks guys for all the help!! I just got done with my first fiberglass Apillar tweeter pod. It took me a coupple of trys before I figured it all out. I used a t shirt to create the mold and the surface for the fiberglass. fiberglassing takes practice just like anything else that is somwhat complicated and messy. If you dont try you will never learn the art of this great product. I will send you all some pics when the other one is done. THANKS AGAIN.
