I'm attempting to construct a new center council from scratch, so far I'm masked and glassed a mold of the tranny hump so I have a good form fitting base. I had used chicken wire to construct what I wanted the council to look like but when I wrapped it in fleece it wasn't tight. And I glassed it any way and well I got an abortion of a center council, dips and wrinkles everywher totally took the contour of the chicken wire....obviously bad idea. Now is there a way I can remedy this and make it work? Maybe by building al the dipsl up to even surface and cutting out the wrinkles and reglassing portions, would that work? See I want a nicley curved and contoured council thats why I didn't make the frame out of would, cause it would still look "boxy". Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do to remedy this and make it work or ideas to start over and build a deceant frame and still achieve the nice cornerless structure I want? And what do most of you use to secure fleece when you wrap a "frame" to keep it tight like it should so there is no sagging and you don't get a mess like I have? Thanks to anyone who can help me out in advance..

Well, I am not sure of what yours currently looks like but, if you were to wrap it again pulling the fleece tight at the bottom sides of the console, would it be smooth? Other wise I would say cut it off, and cut some round pieces of wood, then mount the wood to the base and cover it in fleece, I am sure that you can make it out of wood just as easy if not more easy than the chicken wire. i've never used chicken wire before, but i read somewhere that if you paper mache over the chickenwire, then glass that, it works. I dont know, its worth a shot--you might have to use some releasing compound or something. Good luck and let me know what you do--i might be doing something very similar.
