I've seen (in several audio mags), shops using expandable foam for molds.

Who carries this stuff, in the can, like these shops use? Every place I've found so far has it in a spray can only.

Do you mix it like fiberglass? Can you control how much it expands? Would like to use it to make molds for door panels, etc. Seems a lot easier tha. pour 'a' mold or latex..

$20 for two quarts.  It is a two part foam 50/50.  It expands to about ten to fifteen times.  Works great for making a solid mold.  Easy to cut, sand, shape.  Builds extremely fast.  Can starts cutting sanding it about one hour after it has been used.  I can tell you how to do it all but it is easier to buy some and do some testing with it for yourself.  It is most like the yellow expanding foam sold for insulating.

Do you think you could use it make a subwoofer enclosure for a pair of 8" subwoofers? only need about .5-.25 interior air space.

Works great for building mass, that is what I use it for the most.  It would be my prefered way for making a tiny enclosure Nova guy.  If you have specific questions PM me.

try  www.shopmaninc.com  they have all the fiberglassing materials you can think of such as the two-part expanding foam that the magazines really use but do not let their readers know.  you can get some super stiff foam for $16 - it is a foam kit that will expand to 1/2 cubic foot, there are some other foams they have that are not as rigid for a cheaper price.  the stronger the foam, the higher the price, and with the two-part liquid, it takes a lot longer to go bad than the already mixed foams in a spraycan
