I am making kick panels for a 4 and tweeter, and i'm wondering how many layers i need for the floor mold, and the top.  the floor mold was originally made out of fiberglass cloth, and i've done 3 total layers of that, and one layer of mat.  i haven't got to the top yet, i may start that mold with fleece.  but how many layers, and of which materials do i need to make these things strong?

When I made my fiberglass box for my 8-inch subs I used:

layer 1 : Knit  mat   layer 2,3,4: stringy cloth sheets

layer 5: knit mat

The knit mat I used has small holes if it and the cloth sheet was a solid sheet. It works great but I haven’t tried to stand on it or anything to see how strong it is? You can buy the resign/harder at a hardware store. Use gloves and mask over your nose and mouth. Mix small amounts so it doesn’t start to get hard before you apply the mixer.

For those speaker only 3 layers will do. 4 " speakers will not be producing too high of an SPL.
