I've been trying to do some research for my 1st fiberglassing.  I found a website(https://www.hzemall.com/), in which I'll use his pictures as a reference.  I understand you need to build a base, like this:

Then you stretch fleece or speaker cloth over it like so:

In the pic above, it looks like he makes additional rings and screws them down.  You then put resin on it like so:

final outcome is this:

The part I have a question is, when you put resin on the outter ring that he screws down.  Does he pry off the ring?  Also, how does he fleece stay there when he takes the ring off, because he didn't put any resin under the ring?  Would it just stay there because there is resin on the outside of the ring?

once the top ring is removed you can go back in and add a little resin to the edges, another thing you can do is router the edge of the ring, make a inset lip, and staple the fleece there.it all depends on how you are gonna strengthen it up. if you do it on the outside, than the lip will work really good. if not than the way in the pics works good...its up to you
