hiddnen, the URL to each of your images has been fixed.  Each one was missing a question mark between "php" and "id" in the URL.

thanks...i guess i should of explained...

the mdf u see in pics is the floor....

the glass ive layed is the inner shell of sub boxs. each side will have a sub box chamber and a amp rack on them....will do this tomorrow. put the mdf skelton down and wrap in fleece and soak in resin and such...all happening tomorrow with good weather...

going to lay some more mat down on the inner shell prolly too...depending on how strong it appears to be tomorrow...cause i layed it down thick on wednesday.

the two 12's will eac be mounted in the rear corners of the trunk...and amp racks in the front corners of the trunk. at least thats what the plan is for now...after testing tomorrow...they might be switched...dont really know...it all depends on what my friend wants to do...

Sounds like its gonna be dope.... I figured thats what you were going to do. I'm gonna do some experimenting with fiberglass or "glass" as everyone calls it on this forum. But, the weather around here in WA State blows, rains everyday, so I have to wait. I don't have a garage either, which sucks. Keep up on the pics, I wanna see this done :)

*as you can see...i havent cut the excess matting off yet in the above pics*

and heres just one pic with a 2nd cout of mat on the inside with excess trimmed...

posted_image

gonna end up prolly thowing on another coat of matting on the rear parts of each piece at least...cuse thats where the subs will be coing...and also cutting and glassing in a piece of mdf to creat the front wall of the sub enlcosure...spliting it up from where the amp will be mounted on each piece.

i ordered the amp today...so as soon as i get it in...will trace me out a amp rack mount for it and away we go....alredy have the mount for the jbl 80.4.

i also cut out the two 12" mdf rings...will have them and the 80.4 rack mount glued into place tomorrow on the left trunk piece...and hopefully have it wrapped in fleece and soaking by late tomorrow afternoon.... :) more pics tomorrow hopefully

ALL DEPENDING ON WEATHER!!!

Looking good, how many layers of glass are you going to have to put down. and how sturdy is that glass in the pic?

Thanks for sharing, looks great so far.

Question:  after you taped-it off, did you (spray) glue any fabric on top of the tape then applied resin...or...you just started applying fiberglass mat over the tape?

Posted By: hiddnen
Date Posted: February 20, 2004 at 11:58 PM

just sprayed pam on the tape. then started laying mat. ill have to member that idea about laying fbaric and glue or w/e...dont sound half bad. lol

if you try that glue idea, be carefull that the glue you are using wont react with the resin.

If i were you, just do it like you probably did... put the tape on, spray it with a release (pam works great) then brush on a bit of resin so that the cloth can stick to it, lay the cloth on and apply more resin. If you wet the tape with resin a bit before you put the mat / cloth on, it will hold it in place just like the glue, but that is probably how you allready did it

hidden, when you said u are going to put up a MDF board to seperate where the amp will be and where the sub chamber will be are you making the MDF wall after the mold was made? When thats done i would love to see the pics. I cant imagine how dificult it will be getting the wall the match the curves of the mold.

dream it, build it, fiberglass it

ya thats what i plan....its not gonna match perfect...im gonna cut a stencil out with cardboard and then put it on mdf and glass the piece of mdf in place. it should match up pretty well but glass will help out. i will prolly end up doing like alipne installers do and bondo up the inside of the box...saw pics of them doing that and thought it was a pretty good idea...hopefully have pics lata today of anything new i do...right onw its 42 degrees...
