Im looking at doing a box with the subs being inside the mold, like the subs dont "pop" out they are recessed. ok go to this link click and see how (from top to bottom) the pics 6,7,8 all have a MDF ring on top of the ring the fleece was streched over? Holding down the fleece to the ring. but then in 11 and 14 the rings seem not to be there? Are the rings still there in pics 11 and 14 or do they remove them after the fleece is soaked in resin? This seems like it would be perfect to do what i need to do so hope somone knows how to do this. thanks

yes it look likes there is a 2nd ring along with mounts over all the other pieces that were wrapped in fleece. i think they may have took off the added rings off after soacking in resin...or they sanded them down or something...cant really tell. very clean install though. i like how they hide the wires with the inverted sub.

it appears that what they did was pull the fleece over the rings in the MDF box glassed it then added a second ring on top of the rings that were just glassed....it appears they did the same thing wit the amp rack where the amps are mounted

oops i kinda forgot to ask my main ?. Does anyone know how they did this? Did they put a release agent on the ring or something? also, wouldnt the resin underneath the ring on top of the fleece block the resin from getting to the under ring?
thanks

They said they just loaded on a release agent and screwed on the top ring glasses took off the top ring glassed under it then screwed it back in then let it dry then took it off. I'll try to get pics up when its all done. Its gonna be 2 15 Eclipse aluminums with 2 Alpine mrd-m500s
