hey,

I have 00 Dodge Ram and thinking about adding a monitor were the passenger air bag exists(accident, never replaced). The air bag is not there anymore, only the shape of the air bag mold exists with the two vents on the side of it. How do i start  fiberglass the mold. do i fiberglass while the it still in the truck or should i remove the piece and fiberglass. do i lay foil on the surface so that fiberglass doesn't stick. Any suggestions?

thanks,

7up

im still pretty new to fg, but i think i would try to make a frame of the opening first.  then you could stretch fleece accross it and theres youre mold for the front.  not too sure, tho.  maybe someone with a little more experience could help a little better than i can.  but that sounds like a fun project.  good luck.

btw,  id take the piece out of the truck.  its alot easier to work out side than in a confined space.  also,  mask EVERYTHING.  when i was molding the fiberglass to my trunk, i accidentally dripped some resin on my bumper.  i was so pissed, but i managed to catch it and wipe it up while it was still wet so you cant tell.
