well i'm making a new box, i am always making new boxes, i just love building them, that is if i have the money and equipment to do it. i dont wanna gloat i'm awesome at carpeting too! ANYWAYS, my Q is, i'm gonna be building a new sub box for the trunk. this time with the back of the box being slanted with the angle of the seats.......seems easy enough so far. the face (i have seen this on the net before) is gonna be fiber glass. i wanna have the subs facing staight on a baffle but the inside sides of the subs dipped into the box or the middle rather. and have the outside sides of the subs kinda protruding out. but my Q is how would i figure out volume..i'm guessing it out be just the same cause your just moving the subs the same distance as if they were to be placed staight and mounted on a baffle! please help and give me ideas..i'm willing to do stuff that is outrageous! and funky looking!

1) Make a 1x1x1ft cardboard box.

2) Go to your local UPS store and buy enough styrafoam peanuts to fill your enclosure,

3)Using your cardboard box, fill the enclosure with peanuts one box at a time. Be sure not to pack the peanuts into the box any tighter than you pack them into the enclosure...

This will give you a very close esimate to the actual volume of the enclosure...not 100% accurate but the best method I know. Maybe someone else can chime in with a better method if one exists.

i would build the box bigger than you think you may need, then try the peanut method. if you have too much volume you can always add bracing or something to take up the excess...

ok...gotcha! :) but what about a design...is there any pics that i can see that you guys did or what. its just gonna be a box that you can remove out of the trunk, a normal box, but the face is only fiberglassed! :P
