 ive heard that fg is weak over long straight lengths well how long is too long?

theres too many factors to answer that question..... if you gotta have flat surfaces, use rope as ribs to stregthen it..... the rope will suck up the resin and become hard ribs the brace the area..... or you could just go overkill and layer mat till it's an inch and a half thick...... what is this for?

It's dexterity or ability to support its edges becomes compramised over a flat surface of about 8 inches to a foot (thats what I've found in my experience). To combat a flat surface, defective has the right answer, take some somewhat thick cloth rope (clotheslines work well for this) and soak them in your resin giving them a few minates to become completly saturated. Then lay them accross the flat area. To add more strenght just glass over it which will make a curve in the glass which will be REALLY strong.
