I started a project on Friday. I decided on black and silver for my door panels. I wrestled the panels apart and painted / clear coated most of them yesterday. After lots of mistakes I came up with: https://www.savepic.com/freepicturehosting/is.php?i=117207&img=Doorpanel.gif (I will add the finished photo when complete.) I used a gen. purpose primer, and duplicolor accessorie paint. The original color was a brown vinyl/leather, it looked really bad.

copy and paste. The top one works but the bottom is a 404.
