ok, i have a place where i can get MDF. BUT! lol, what if you live in some remote location. and you can ONLY get....plywood. and you have all the FG supplies and such. could you maybe pour resin over the plywood to make it stronger if your using it for a box or something.

i'm not doing anything like this. i was just wondering and such!

Sure, anything's possible, but it would wind up costing you more time and (for most people) money.

Sealing even CDX plywood is a time consuming and VERY expensive when using resins/Fillers. To tell you that its impossible, I can't because I have done it once upon a time (a long, long, time) It will cost you roughfly twice the resin and finishing materials to achieve the desired finish, and even then there is a margin of doubt depending on your skills. I'd say cool, if you had money to burn and are a career bodyman... but then again, a career bodyman wouldn't even try to go there.

USE THE MDF- even if ya gotta have it helo dropped in!...LOL!
Besides, using Plywood is like a... sacrilege, right?!! posted_image

I was just going to say the same thing. IF you have to you could always use the plywood for the speaker rings and stands. Make sure you spend the time sealing it for the rings, but it wont be near as big of a deal.
