I figured since i use this site religiously and i am always checkin out the fiber section and posting. I should start putting my projects up here for you guys to see.

This is a 2000 S-10 3-door, customer wanted to use the single rear flip down seat so i built a box to showcase his amps when you opened the door, but also have nice bass imaging in the cab (and look fancy). The bottom sub will be pointing at the bottom of the drivers seat and the pther will be aimed into the center airspace of the cab.

this is the frame completed with the floor mold pulled and rings in.

This is a closup of the non finished floor mold at this point:

This is me with the fabric stretch starting:

Well that's all for now... i am rienforcing and building the back right now. I have just layed the first layers of bodyfiller. The trick with this box, it is a single airspace, but SPEC!! I used autocad to draw and build the enclosure, it is an exact science. It's been along time since i've build a spec box like this.

Anyway, i'll keep ya updated

Nice Form. Looks like the makings of a sweet install. What's the color scheme your going with? I'd like to see your trim out of the door side and the amp rack intrgrate when you get there.

Thanx for replying, the amps are still being purchased so i have not cut the hole yet. The back is still open from reinforcment, the wires are actually gonna be routed inside the box and epoxied through a hole in the back wall.... i like my boxes clean.

I have already trimmed to fabric around the edges, removed the staples, smoothed the edges and body filled. It is getting 2 coats of S-10 Midnight blue (truck exterior) along with 3 clears. the edges that are mdf are being wrapped with med gray color matched vinyl the same as the interior. It is being painted at a professional paint shop (i suck at sanding). It is gonna look like a million bux.

that is a sweet box. i am going to do a glass box in my trunk. can i ask...how are you going to mount/secure it in there when you go to finally put it in?

Very Nice.

Now a question... In the third pic with you and the enclosure why did you have plugs on the speaker rings? I assume you removed them prior to glassing the box, correct? And out of curiousity, how many layers of glass did you put on the fleece (presumably inside the enclosure)? Gearing up to do my own, and just trying to build a little confidence.

ya... there was a copule layers and i had to do that so that they would not wrinkle... as for securing it, the box weighs a ton and it is molded to the floor.... it locks right into the spot it goes.... not going anywhere

i put about 2 inches of duraglass..... read about the story in another post..... you'll find it. it's funny.

anyway.... will get final pics of it installed 4 ya'll
