I am going to be putting my HU in a custom overhead dash/console and a 10" sub in the dash. I was wondering if anyone knew how to or had any information on relocating heater vents and the heater controls.I am going to have to move them down about 6 - 8" on the dash.

What kind of car? Button or dials for controls?

Your going to have to remove the dash altogether and start mapping out the vents and the controls. You can do anything you want as far as relocating the vents & controls , just have to get at them first. When you open up the dash and see where all the vents are and how they are run through the vehicle, you will have a better idea as far as where to relocate them and how much room you really have. As far as the 10" sub, did you want it to be firing up on the windshield or did you want it hidden into the dash so you only see a grill cover ?

yea, id suggest removing your dash too. gives a little more room as well as being able to see whats going on. push button controls would be easy to move, just relocate and lenghten wire if neccesary. dials may be a little more complicated. my moms corsica is all controlled by vacuum hoses, so if its like that, it would be pretty easy too, just lengthen the hoses. as for vents, when you find out where you want them, id just use some dryer hose or something similar and just clamp it down and place them where you want them to go. good luck, and post pics.

the sub is going to be basically in the same spot as the stock stereo would have been. its going to be facing the back of the jeep. I am going to create a plexiglass "baffle" about 2 inches in front of the sub to give the bass something to reflect off of. I am not sure how the heater controls work in my vehicle yet but I will find out as soon as I get teh chance to get crazy with the dash. its a 2000 jeep grand cherokee, and I haven't seen very many good custom jobs done with one. I hope it turns out okay.

that should be somewhat easy..i mean most parts stores sell vacuum line accessories such as plastic splicers and some carry vacuum hose you can buy. other than that it should be very simple becvause all you have to do then is figure out where your goin to relocate your dials or what not and mount them...
