Ok. I want to build a ram air intake for my car. I want to fiberglass around my air vents in my bumper, and have it forced into the intake. I have modified my stock air box with tube on the bottom and is running to the air vents. I want to create a funnel to get only cold air from the front bumper. At the same time the faster I go the more air being pushed in, Ram Air.

The question the fiberglass surronding the vents can it get wet? I don't want to build it then have it fall apart the first time it rains. I built a fiberglass box but never something that will be in the weather. Thanks

fiberglass is waterproff as long as the resin soaks all the way through the mat, or cloth when you are making it. Of course its waterproof or else the body's of vettes and boats would not be made of it. however you don't want water going in the air intake of the car, so you have to consider that in the design. justin

yeah...what he said....i would not build this unless you build it in such a way that NO water at all can get into your manifold.....if it does you will wet-lock your engine and be in for big money to rebuild the block.
