Yo,
I've seen a lot of pics on this site where the fleece over the sub mdf rings are secured by another mdf circular disc that is secured over the fleece. My question is I have seen this only with subs that are not counter-sinked into the ring, is it possible to use this method with subs that are counter-sinked?
Thanks,

sure you could do that, but I'm not really sure why you would want to. once the fleece is streched and secured to the sides of the rear mold, the fleece will stay in place.

yes there is a way. You make a circular disc out of say 1/2 MDF the size of the diameter of your ring. Then you will pre drill small holes (not deep) at 4 spot on the ring and the disc so they match in position. Then you will want to cover the disc in some kinda spray glue then put on tin foil for a release agent. Then after u stretch the fleece screw the disc into the ring. Then soak the thing in resin. Once is it dried u can unscrew the disc from the ring then DRENTCH the non resined fleece above the ring. Then screw the disc back on, but make sure you have the tin foil on or ur screwed. Hope that helps

yea, thats what id do. also, you can just use the disc that you cut out of the middle of the larger top ring. then you know it already fits perfectly.

Ya ive thought about that but then the outer part of the MDF most likly wont touch the fleece.
