I have built my first fiberglass box for my PT Cruiser and what had happen is the speaker ring I have made to mount the speaker was a little to big. On one side of the ring air seeps out of a screw hole. I am unable to put a screw there because there is no wood under it. Like I said the whole is a little less then a 1/4" off. Top, bottom and one side fits great. It is just in really 1 spot. What can I do to seal this? Is there some sort of gasket or something I can pick up from somwhere to fix this problem. You can a pic of the box here but it doesn't show the flaw.

you could make another ring that will fit the sub mounting hole. the cut a section of the ring big enough for it to cover the bad spot in the ring. put it on the underside of the ring that is glassed in there and wood glue it in place. just clamp it in there for a few hours or overnight. the put the sub back in.

how about just some good ol weatherstripping between the sub and the mounting ring. that should do the trick. i wouldnt glue it just in case it doesnt work, cause then youll have to figure out a way to carve your sub out. otherwise, you just wasted a box and a sub.
Thanks all for the feedback. I figured out why it didn't fit right. It was because there was a little bondo that got on one side and it didn't sit in right. I sanded it down and it sits much better.
I think I am going to go with the weather stripping idea anyway for a better seal. There is no rubber bottom on the rim and I think the stripping will seal it much better.
