I am seeing all these custom fiberglass sub-enclosures where you mode them into the area you need it to be. My question is , How are you figuring the cu. ft. air space for these enclosures? In a normal box or even a complicated box the cu. ft. can be calculated pretty easily but I am unsure how it can be done when the glass it just formed to the area. I'm looking at putting some in my rear doors of my Excursion and planned to just build boxes to insert in them and cover the outside area with glass. but the odd front shapes will still poise a problem with calculating. Any suggestions?

alot of people ussualy use the styrafoam (spelling) peanuts for packaging, just get a card board box that is 1cu ft. fill it up with peanuts then pour it into your enclouser, keep doing this and keep messureing, till you fill your enclouser, just dont pack down the peanuts.

Packing peanuts will work but i would suggest sand being it is much more accurate. Also, if your trying to calculate the volume before u make the box and cant get it that exact its better to make it bigger than smaller than the specs say. It is a lot easier to take away volume than add it.

Im drawing it all out in AutoCAD before I start building it to get the volume close. Thanks for the advise on the fill method, I've heard of doing it that way but wasnt sure how precise it would be.
