just built a fiberglass enclosure and i dont have the kind of bass i want. is this normal for fiber glass enclosures or is this a volume problem. i tried out the sub in a 1,5 cubic in box sealed and it hit much harder than that. anything would be helpfull. thanks a lot guys. ------------- If something is not working as planed, Check your ground ;)

There is no reason your box would sound diff if its 1.5 cuft unless its to thin and is flexing. If you push or stand on it does it flex?

box could be slightly too big or the sides are flexing like pureRF said. might try some polyfill and see if that does anything for ya.

I would seroiusly suggest looking at your box, especially in the larger flat areas, and see if you can make it flex by any means. If it does flex by pushing on it or standing on it then it will flex when ur sub hits. This will make it sound bad.

i had the same problem but i just put the polyfill in it and its much better. and make sure all your holes are sealed up. especially around the rim of the sub. its hard to get it airtight right there

Try throwing in a phonebook or two and see if it sounds better, temporarily of course. If it doesn't then go buy polyfil/dacron.
