I have about a 1and a half crack in one of my plastic panels. I plan to paint them but i was wondering is there any way of hiding this crack. Melting, glue, some type of resin???

The bondo definately doesnt work, it has no strength on the other side to hold to so it just cracked again. Any other ideas or where can I find this plastic welder?

Stop a local hobby/model shop in your area and buy a little bottle of glue called "Plastiweld" made by Plastruct. It costs about $4.00 and will stick to mosts plastics. ------------- itmdtr

Yeah your best bet is some some of plastic weld or plastic epoxy. Try and get it inside the crack if you can, without getting a lot on the visible surface of the panel. Then you can go a little crazy on the backside of the panel. Fill in any visible imperfections on the front side, lightly sand the whole panel down, throw some primer on it and paint.. Of course depending on the panel it might not be worth buying these epoxies and putting the time into the repair if a brand new panel is in the same range pricewise. Good luck.

yeah. it comes in a two part tube. like 5 bucks. you might have to get creative with the sanding depending on what texture the plastic part has. i used a toothpick to mimic the texture on one car i did.
