its the "new" backseat for a 1997 mitsubishi eclipse. I'll post pics if you want. The car is sweet...molded kit..roof scoop..chrome 18's..5 tv screens and now a full fiberglass system. He's one of my customers at my stereo shop. All the work on this car was done by me when i was more into the performance stuff.   Now im straight audio and figured i needed to get some fiberglass work under my belt. I never would have gotten that done without the help of this forum. I'll post some pics of the boxes when i get them. The customer needed his car for a few days so i wont get a chance to work on it agian til friday or saturday..then the fun starts mmmmwwwwhhhaaahhhaaaahhhaa! posted_image

BY THE WAY....no actual fiberglass has taken place yet..although its the EASY part cause ive dont it so many times..that is just yellow fleece stretched over the box and test fit in the vehicle. i'll keep posting pics as I go..Any constructive criticism welcome

That looks great! I totally thought it was already finished.  I have one question/suggestion, the outside is nice and rounded so did you think of possibly grinding/sanding down the outer corners of where the amps go?  I noticed the corners where you stretched the fleece near the bottom and the top center.  Just a thought, it looks real nice.

i thought about sanding that down..but i kinda liked the wya it looked. cant really explain why..but i see your point. I thought the sharp angles broke up the long arc on the sides..added some flare. Thanks for the suggestions though..keep em coming!

the amp rack only has 2
ther will be no flex at all..i mean..i can flex the fiberglass on the box..but i dont see the point in making it "bullet proof".   The sub box is at 10 layers right now..cause the subs are gonna be hit with 1500 watts RMS. But the amp rack is only 2 layers at this point and i decided that was enough..im putting the second coat of bondo on later tonight..then sanding..then spot putty..then primer..then to body shop in the A.M.

More feedback??

Thats the kind of job people will definately drool over!  That would be an excellent car to use as a sample for future customers.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks..thats the exact idea. Im a new business in town..and as you may know..small towns have tons of people that talk smack about something they dont know. So findind a customer to spend some real money on a major system will shut the mouths of the aprehensive!!.    But i'll keep you updates on the progress...i'm planning on having it done wihtin 7 days.
Thanks agian
Peace

howd you get the individual amp boxes to stay in place? just screw in through the corners or what?

pretty much just made a point of contact with the corner of the "amp boxes" with the actual amp rack. and if there wasnt a point of contact..i put a leg under neath the corner

I have updated pics..i will post them tomorrow morning
