i have a 91 toyota supra and i would like to fiberglass both door panels can anybody give me a hand on how to do it.
What exactly do you want to do? Do you want to build speaker pods? Do you want to just cover it in fiberglass to paint it? Do you want to change the shape?

i want to change the whole door panel.
Bizzare... I have an 89 Supra that I'm going to be putting some 6.5's in soon.. I just got then in the other day, I'm going to replace the map pocket along the bottom of the door and glass some pods and a couple holders for the crossovers.... let me know if you want pics when i get done
whatever you do, don't just lay a sheet of cloth over your ripped door panel and fb it. I read a user on this forum asking why his door panel look so flat with no curves. hmm....
to prevent a flat door panel, you would have to either make a new, VERY STRONG, mdf frame for all the shutting, slamming, etc. then lay cloth over that. -OR- just fiberglass over the panels you have now. drill holes, use screws. I asked how i would fiberglass a certain section on my door panels, and my idea was to drill a cloth over the area i wanted to fb. Since fb and metal bonds well, i figure it would be a pretty tight fit. Haven't started on my interior yet tho.
Also, if you are going to fiberglass your doors, make it so you can still disassemble the panel without ruining your work! -OR- with your door panels ripped off, check wiring, connections, etc. real good before you create your own panels. This way your odds of your doors not functioning properly is less.
I'm not an expert at fiberglassing but this is what i have learned so far...any comments anyone?
Well how to do it really depends on what you want to do. You will have to get very creative on what you want it to look like, then figure out howgo about pulling it off. One thing you can do is go down to a flower shop (Michael's) and buy some of that green foam they use in floral arangements. You can then glue it to your door pannel, use a knife to carve it into the desired shape, then fiberglass over it. Other things you can do is use hot glue and back strap to suspend MDF pieces of wood (speaker rings as an example), and then stretch cloth to it. But honestly, 90% of fiberglassing is being creative. The more creative you are, the more impressive your finished product can be.
