i was watching a show on either discovery zone or tlc about high end auto customizing at 310motoring in cali. they were customizing football player Lawyer Milloy's H2. the installer was redoing the center dash to hold a ten inch screen and head unit. instead of using fiberglass, they said they using something else that was easy to sand and paint without prepping. i think they called it "cat hair" or "wiskers"? it was greenish in color and he applied it like a filler. has anyone else seen this show? it has been on several times. or does anyone know what this is? i thought it might be the liquid plastic that i have read about in the forum. this is something that i could use on a current install that i am working on. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanx

You could either use Kitty Hair or Duraglass. I believe they're pretty much body filler with fiberglass in it.

actually it's a polyester resin formula with presaturated strand, theres no body filler....... it's awesome when you need to seal a flush floor without screws. Just mix and put it in a bag and cut the corner off....... just like cake icing.

I never saw the show but kitty hair or tiger hair is a bitch to sand but very strong.

I'm not sure if Kitty Hair is a brand name or not. But I know that Mar-Glass uses the long strands of fiberglass. Duraglass actually uses small fiberglass beads in it. The former is stronger, but also MUCH harder to work with. Steven Kephart Adire Audio -------------

Kitty Hair is the brand name of the long strand fiberglass reinforced body filler that Evercoat makes. They also have a short strand reinforced filler called Everglass. Marglass and Duraglass are just the names that Marson and USC give to their reinforced filler. It doesn't bond very well to dash plastic though. You'd probably want to go with a rigid parts repair epoxy like the 3M Automix 05883 or the Criterion product that's similar.
