are their any instructions on putting carpet on the fiberglass box. I dont want any points where the carpet butts together to show. Are their any special ways of cutting the carpet to make it look like i bought the box with the carpet on it already. (I want to look like a professional did it).Im using 3m 77 spray.

It depends on the shape of the enclosure. With fiberglass there's not set box shape so we can't tell you to "trim it at the corners" or something like that. If you wrapped the piece in fabric to resin it then you should have no problem wrapping carpet over it. You may have to cut the carpet along hard edges if you need multiple sides covered.

Use Flock. It is cheap, and super easy to use. Plus, there are no seams, and you can apply it to as many curves as needed!

Just curious, but why carpet a fiberglass box? It is like spray painting a ferrari.

Fiberglass will give you the shape you need, but to have it perfectly smooth will consume time and effort. It is not as easy as sanding for a few minutes, it could take hours. Each and every blemish needs to be removed, and the contours need to be perfect -- if they are not, it will be greatly emphasized in the paint as it is applied. Flock is just an easy alternative, that only requires a quick amount of sanding!

i live by the flock now...... very nice finish, barely any sanding, covers everything....... only thing to worry about is evenly painting the flock adhesive, we had some issues with that on the Alpine civic

Flock is a two part process. You paint on a layer of adhesive and then use a little tube device to apply the flock fibers. There's a how-to on the manufacturer's website. You can buy it there or you several other places. Just do a search for "mini-flocker" or "suede tex".

Has anyone used the air assisted spray gun they have?

Yeah, the pic above is my first flock job ever. Came out great. Like defective says, hardly any sanding, and super easy. Holds up great, too. I buy flock direct from Metra, but you need a dealer account. I can send you some, but let me find the prices, and colors tonight. Email me or PM me anyone who is interested.

Metra's prices aren't anything special but it's convenient if you need to order a bunch of stuff. Just do a search at Google or Froogle for "mini flocker" and you'll find plenty of other sources.

FYI - prices at Metra:

Mini-Flocker - $3.16 ($5 at Froogle)
Flock (3 oz) - $12.30 ($8 at Froogle)
