posted_image I'm familiar with Rage Gold. I love the stuff. I was asking if he had used Bondo (Bondo brand body filler) on the bottom and Rage Gold (Evercoat brand body filler) on the top layer.

naw. its called dynalite i think(dont feel like going to look at the can.) it did gain some weight, but its still not that heavy(picture the weight of a gallon of filler, a gallon of resin and three packs of cloth. on the can of the filler it says its easyer to sand than bondo but thats a damn lie. i havent found rage gold locally(ATL)tomorrow morning i hope to do some sanding before work and hopefully will put on the first coat of primer.

Hey i have a question... ive never taken down a headliner myself.... what all hold it up... is it just pillar trim and things like any lights or sun visors and o-$hit handles?  or are there push pins kinda like what hold on door panels?

Every car company is different as far as the fastener's used. Some use screws and push gromets while other's use plastic clips and spring steel.

if your talking about the pt, there are 14 screws, the pillar trim, and two push pins in the back. 4 screws are star bit(visors), 10 are philips(o sh*t handles) to remove the b and c pillars you have to remove the seat belt anchors. 4 t-47 star bit screws.

HEY, ODleon i am doing similar project on my car.. but my fiberglass didnt stick to the original headliner.. well it did in the middle mostly, but the edges didnt really. Did that occur with yours?

Posted By: ODLeon
Date Posted: September 08, 2004 at 7:10 PM
yea. it doesnt really stick well to the edges. i just put resin and then body filler on the edges. you cant see 95% of mine so it didnt really matter.
