First off, i work at a Co-Op lumber yard, and around it, i've found things from

Underlay on floors (blue matt that has various different chunks of stuff, stuck together in a matt, looks to be 1/4" or so, never measured)

Comfort Barrier (plastic like 1/16" rolls, very easy to work with could double up padding with ease)

Ice Guard (mentioned in the thread "Sound Dampening!")

im wandering, if anyone could point me into which would be the most effective of the 3, i really would like to lay some of this down tomorrow, so online purchasing or dynamats & brands of that nature will not suffice for the time being)

anyone have experiance with any of it?

thinkin i should go with iceguard but if its costy for me i may have to see what i can scrounge from some roofing customers after their jobs lol (im poor ;/)

Of those three, and probably out of everything you will find there, Ice Guard is almost the exact same. Make sure you are getting the stuff without grip on the other side. I had found some at home depot, that had grip (looked like a shingle) on the other side. The normal iceguard is pretty well the exact same as dynomat... a little thicker, little more smelly, little less drying time.... but for the most part, its dynamat.

i was thinkin you can use undercoating through out your car, say on the floor board, in ur trunk, and underneath your pillars.  it should work decent since it helps cut down road noise.

undercoating is great but it will take some time if you apply it by hand, arosal can is nice but can be very messy so tape up anything you don't want ruined. It is great for those hard to reach areas.

Rhino Liner is exelent for covering large areas...A little more expensive but the End product is great...

Our shop gutted and and sprayed the whole rear half of a Tarus Station Wagon....It went from Rattles all over to Nothing in two coats....

You just have to mask off EVERYTHING....Its a little time consuming and messy but hella cheaper than using Dynamat...
