ive got a pair of s12L7s, the box is roughly 4.5 cubic feet for the pair.. there is only one port, and it is is only about 1x10 inches, its very loud dont get me wrong, but my old box was made for my solo barics had a 13x2 port each, and every other solo baric setup ive ever seen has huge ports like my old box.. oh and its tuned to 45hz..   any suggestions? should i change the port size?

What's the problem?  Is the sub not playing like you think that it shoud?  If so then the answer is yes change the port volume.  Also check the volume of the box and make sure that is right.  Note that when you change the port volume you will have to compensate for it in the boxe's overall volume.

SoloBarics are truly meant for smaller sealed enclosures, thats when they really put out some SPL.  Try buildng yourself a smaller sealed box with about 1 cubic foot per sub and listen to those solo's pound!  Just my 2 cents :-D

you guys shoul realize, when they say solobarics are made for asmall sealed box, that does not mean they work BETTER in a sealed small box, they just CAN..
raise the fs of a woofer by increasing the weight of the moving mass, and you CAN put them in a smaller box.. and/or you dont have to put them in a big box, because the only advantage to a bigger box is the ability to tune it too a lower freq..and handle power..but the solos are about an fs of 35,with a 12,thats about 2.25 ft3 per..a 10,if it could do it,you could go as low as 28-30..you CAN tune a smaller box lower, but you sacrifice power handling..the opposite is only true to a point.. with4.5 ft3,i would say tune that to about 37-40 hz,maybe lower, but i need to know amp/crossover combo..including radio if it has xover as well..And HOPEFULLY a subsonic,a box @ 35 hz,20-35 is as much power WASTED as the rest of the range!!!(to say...80-90..)
