Has anyone ever made anything custom shaped from the fine metal mesh speaker gills? Some of the newer cars like mine had a small tweeter in the upper doors - a style I'd like to copy (for an oem look) but a tad larger to house a 4" mid.

Was just wondering 1)where do you get the fine mesh material (I'm thinking of just using something stock and cutting it up), and 2)what did you use to shape it? I'm thinking of making a wooden mold - and pounding into form around that.

Thanks in advance.

www.selectproducts.com has the mesh speaker grill sheets like your looking for. Not all that cheap though.
