I have a qucik question on calculating the right measurement for speaker rings. My router has a 1/4 in. bit on it. When cutting the inner ring should I subtract 1/2 in. because of the 1/4 in. bit hitting each side? I have a 13 1/2 in. circle cut out and am making flush speaker rings, and the outer ring for the sub to fit in will need to be 12 1/2 inches. Any help is appreciated.

I would say, try to cut right on the inner most side of your circle drawing that way you wont have to adjust any measurements, dont cut directly on the line.  Hope you understand what I mean.

Yeah I understand, i would rather a measurement that way both are the same size, but, I will probably do that today.

try doing a test cut,i use a couple back-braces that i made a caliper out of,then i make 'compasses' out of a loop of wire, with a screw for the center,do a test cut, then adjust depending on the slop, preferably slop, not too small, its just easier!once you find the right length for the wire, that makes the right circle, label it,and hang it on the wall..as with everything else,i am extream on everything i do,i use t-nuts,and bolts on sub boxes..and epoxy in the t-nuts,PULL them in with a bolt through the woofer, dont do it with only the box,and make sure you epoxy it,all you need is one blown woofer, and you will see why i said epoxy,NOT hot melt, and DO NO HAMMER them in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and for any woofer, try to get a hold of a torque wrench, that sounds extream, but it does help! neither the woofer, now the box is tweaked..this makes it easier fro the voice coil to stay lined up!i also suggest doubling the face,oh yeah fg box,use 1 1/8"hdf for the ring, mdf is ok too..i suggest masking the woofer, and fg'ing with it in place..iknow i know... a pain, but that way you know the resin( that softens up the mdf) doesnt allow the ring to be tweaked, causing the glass to seperate from the ring, now a fg box would be a real shame/pain if a t-nut came off!,again a couple blown woofers, and either your holes dont hold,or you have to shift the woofer!
most people dont worry half as much as i do about 'little' stuff like that,so take it as you will..
