Ok I`m taking on a major project these questions of many.First off alittle info on what I,m doing and what I`m trying to get out of it.I have an old fullsize bronco the inside is gutted for a color change.I have alot of stuff lying around that I`m going to stuff into it.Well the paint work done.
What I`m want the systeam to do be loud and clear, desent front stage. The 40x15 mud tires roar alot.
Now on the audio gear i have.2 sets of orion 6.2,4 mtx 8",2 eclipse 12"dvc,1 carver 6ch xover,1 old ppi art am2050,and 2 orion xtr 8004.My plan is front and rear componets in pods, front and rear mid bass in pods,2 ported sub boxes.
Ok my question is about the porting firing of the box.The box is 2.5<3,I`m slot port due to there size(2x6x12).Would it be better to aim them the same as the speaker or into the cabin area?I`m not able to aim the speaker towards the rear gate it has to fire into the cargo area. That is the reason for 2 boxes, one on each side.
Also I`m installing 4 bucket seats instead of the normal 2buckets and rear bench. So I`m also building a front and rear consoles.
If you have any ideas that may be better than what i have let me know.
I would fire the ports in the direction the way the subs are facing. Make sure you don't use the MTX 8"s and the eclipse 12"s together. Not good for sq. And while the things gutted put some sound deadening material down (brown bread is good for price and quality).
Why would it be bad to use the 8`s with the 12`s?
the 8`s would be a mid bass
