Mobile Dynamics Polycrete formula

Has any one been to threw the phase X part of the mobile dynamics course? If so i'm wanting to find out what the formula is for the polycrete and liquid bone.

i have never heard of the stuff so  i am very curious about them. i did some searching and found this site...

seems this may be somthing similar. i will do some more searching for the liquid bone stuff.

i understand why the guys thet have been through the course wont tell what it is, although i would never keep info from people that wanted to know myself. some of us dont have the money to go to an expensive school. I am an engineer and an extreme enthusiast on the side. i do welding stereo and all types of stuff. but i have learned most of it for free and from other people.  so if i come up with any info, i will post it here.

Actually I'm pretty sure that's not the same stuff (Polycrete) that MD uses. I'm basing it off of an article they had in Performance Auto and Sound magazine where they said,

"...the fabric is coated with another mixture we call polycrete (not the stuff you get at home improvement stores for fixing holes in drywall.) Our polycrete is a special mixture that sands very easily compared to fiberglass"

I don't know what the polycrete or liquid bone mixture is but I doubt it warrants the level of secrecy it's getting. That's one of the problems with the car audio industry. Everyone wants to keep their techniques and tips secret like it gives them some amazing edge over everyone else. The whole idea hurts the industry. Can you imagine where we'd be or what we could all accomplish if everyone would share? I can remember when texture spray was a guarded secret. Give me a break. We've got enough problems dealing with the OEMs keeping their systems secret. We don't need to kneecap the industry with this continued code of silence. Just my two cents.

Not being sure what polycrete is, but I do know that when working with firberglass resins, you can add different things at different percentages to provide different chararistics.  Adding microspheres to the resin will make it easier to sand and shape.  You can use anything as a filler in the mix, sawdust, polyfilla, flour, anything that take up air space.   The resin provide the streangth and the filler make the sanding easier.  The high percentage of filler, the easier to sand. 

That was kind of my guess on polycrete as well. Just based on materials I use now and knowing the consistency of real polycrete. My guess is it's resin with fumed silica added. My guess on liquid bone is a mixture of resin and body filler. Or vice versa. Looking at the pictures I don't see anything that would suggest otherwise.

A friend and myself have been playing around with some different mixtures and we've had some luck with adding 2 oz., of resin to 6oz of bondo. I wouldnt go as far to say its perfect, but maybe if we all start mixing we can nail it.  just a thought. peace

Yes, that's what it is. You can get it at most auto parts stores. I think O'Reilly has it for $20-25 a kit. It's not a bad little set up for small jobs.

yea its duplicolor, thats the paint we used in phase x for our polycrete stuff. its a perty cool paint to use for projects, gives a nice effect if you dont have alot  of money to take it to a paint shop.
