Nice.  Good finish on it.  What kind of paint and clear did you use?  Minus those bumps I'd give it a 8 out of 10 (at least for it being a home job).

like they said ... a little wavey but it looks good!

I think it looks good. One way I was told to get the waves out is using a flat cheese grater on the bondo layers while they are still wet. I heard that works really well.

What volume (ft3) did the box end up? Why is the inside of the box black, too (paint, sound deadener, carpet?)

You may want to try a recessed subwoofer ring the next go around, makes the box look more professional.

Great first job; keep it up!

Yeah I was going to mention that ring.  Gives a mounted sub a better blending look.

what do you guys mean recessed subwoofer ring?? i have a pretty good idea i just wanna be sure.  Is that meaning taking like 1/2" MDF making a large ring and then cutting into that about 1/4" and prying it out so that the sub screw hole ring(not the technical name for it) is sittting flush with the rest of the MDF ring??

it's where a ring is built (the radius of the mounting diameter of the sub) and is pulled into the box (.5 inches or so) so the sub is flush w/ the box

here's a site that explains it:  https://web.njit.edu/~cas1383/proj/mdf/index.htm

Other than the large waves I'd say it was a good first attempt. It actually looks a lot like the enclosure I show in Fiberglass Fabrication II. Do you have that DVD? I couldn't find your name in the customer list.

Yea, definitley shoulda pumped your breaks a lil bit and put some heart in it, but lots of love for trying. Especially with a nice finish like that. I would definetly look into some rage gold or something but the biggest thing is to learn from your mistakes, and always step it up better than the last time.

peace
