Well I bought the fleece from wal mart, actually I bought a massive fleece blanket for like $5.00 and its huge.

And guys heres another pic just got rage gold on and sanded tonight. Not too much more work to go!

Don't use felt.  A big difference between the two.  Fleece absorbs and stretches better.  Yeah walmart is the place (also good for some good subs and amps posted_image).  If you've got a fabric shop around try that.  They may be a little cheaper.

Great looking box, seems like you put a lot of working into the preperation of it.

My first box is ugh, and I don't really like it, I don't have a router so I had to make the rings with a jig saw. Anyways, it hits better than the box it was in and it looks decent. I just need to carpet it.

I am trying to find some carpet, My mom brought extra carpet she had to where I was working, but it was house carpet or something and was way to thick to contour to the curves of the box.

I am going to order some off of partsexpress and see if that does the trick. I am about to start my car, and I had so many bubbles in my first enclosure that I hope I learned my lesson about rushing.

Alright guys here is the pics of the mdf structure

posted_image

Alright and then a hole for the amp to come into

posted_image

and then the mdf rings which I had to round off with a dremel because I dont have a router

posted_image

And the amp rack which is kind of a different design than ive ever seen before but it works so there you go

posted_image

And thats all folks, let me know what you guys think.

So is the amp going to be seen through like a window? Nice job on the structure. How did you cut those curves? Jigsaw?

Thats pretty sweet man....I like it alot.  I'm also curious about the way the amp will be...is it going to sit flush in there or seen through a plexi window with LEDs or something?

The amp will be underneath the fiberglass so that about an inch or so all the way around the amp is covered.  So that no wires or anything shows.  I'll post pics of that when I get it completed.  And I used staples to hole fleece on with.

I'll get more pics up later on!

Thanks guys for all your comments I really appreciate them alot!

Well r7 actually I got what I would need for it to be 1.55 cubic feet and used those measurements on the mdf.  I'm sure thats not a good way to do it.  But it hits hard and im very satisfied with the sound quality. Thanks again guys for all the comments keep um coming.

Yeah im really pleased with the black, my interior is black and i'm not really a fan of the exterior colored interior parts. If that makes sense, basically I dont really like painting your interior parts the same color as your car. Other people love it and thats fine just not really my thing you know. Thanks again guys.

I would paint my sub enclosures, but I really hate getting it that smooth with sanding.

Also I'm afraid if I paint that someone is going to hit it and chip it. So hope that doesn't happen to you :)

I want to get a gun, since I am trying to get an air compressor for christmas. Will make painting so much freaking easier.

Yeah my buddys dad painted it for me. He works at a paint shop so he knows what hes doing.  Yeah I dont let anyone put anything in my trunk, its basically off limits so hopefully no worries w/ the chips.  I'm praying that it stays nice and shiny with no problems like that. Thanks for the comments guys I appreciate it. Hey djdave let us know if we you need any help man, and def. get those pics up. You can actually upload those pics to the this thread by just clicking on the button with the pic of a tree on it and the arrow pointing up.

I'm hopefully going to finish the noise proofing tomorrow.  Today I went snowboarding.  The main problem is that I'm moving soon so I may put off most of the major glass work until I move and setup a work area in the back yard.

I didn't do anything over my vacation because of being busy/bad weather.  I'm waiting for carpet, super glue, and fiberglass mat to come from Select Products in the mail.  As soon as I get that, I'm going to buy some carpet padding from a flooring store and get my floor done.  The weather stripping on the front windshield is leaking from the rain and making the floor inside my truck wet, so I may have the windshield and weatherstripping replaced since the windshield has a small crack anyway.  So much work to do, so little money.  I'll keep everyone updated.
