Godd morning all;

  My next project for my chevy venture, i was wondering how much space should i account for the fiberglass to take up. if i have 10 inches of total space how big should the skeleton be before the fg?

The console will be for the front between the driver/passenger seats and go all the way to the front dash, 10" is a hypothetical measurement. it will have cup holders and a switch panel incorperated into it

Should i use mdf or just frame it with 1x1's or something simillar and make it look like an interior house wall?

I've seen a lot of consoles made with mdf then glass over the top, is this the way to go?

With the strength of the fiber glass(about 6-7 layers) would hard board be good?

For now that is all the questions i can think of will post more as they come up.

if its mainly flat surfaces, use mdf. FG is not that strong when its flat. also, the fg will take ~ 1/2" to 3/4" depending on how many layers and what type of mat or cloth you use.
