Well I made my sister's FG box and my mom told me that she almost passed out from the dust that was in the garage. I had left some bondo dust laying around and I could easily walk through the garage, but magically when she walked through the garage she decided that she was feint and it is a health risk. She says I can't do any more projects in the garage and this leaves me with no where to work. I am now unable to do my car and it is really annoying. She says if I want to sand I have to go out into the driveway and basically cover all the cars on the street including mine with dust. I was thinking of building like a dust free room, framing up a little section of the garage and covering it with thick plastic, having a fan that will pull air out through a filter. Anyone think that this would work?

that would work fine. you can also hook up a shop vac or some other powerful vac, underneath where u are sanding to pull in the majority of the dust.

hahaha, I do the shop vac thing, Just build a small sanding table and make a little area for the vac nose to fit into directly under the sanding area and vroom, vac that sh*t up, also setup a couple fans to direct the dust either towards the vaccume of out of the garage.

You should be wearing a mask as well, long time exposure will harm you. I just recently bought a full face respirator from 3M, protects my eyes and lungs, I love it. ------------- Tim Baillie

I wear a 3m mask with filters on it when I am working with anything that has fumes. Be it spray paint, latex paint, bondo, fiber glass.
That's why I invested the 35 bucks for it. My mom is just ridiculous. I decided that I am going to hold off doing my box for a while and clean up the garage so I can actually have room to setup a dust collection place.
