I've seen one car (I think it was an eclipse had 2 - 10'' subs in eah door with a 7'' moniter fiberglassed in I've been seeing alot of people starting to put neon light s behind plexi to make a real cool look)

ok, i've been lurking for a while now, but this was enough to bring me out... my project's still in the works, but here's a preview of how i created my panel. i learned a few things on this attempt that will help in the future, but it's turned out better than i could've ever hoped. i'm much further along than in the pic (already fully fiberglassed, waiting for sanding/filling this weekend, i'll update with all of the progess pics after i finish).

this was made completely from scratch, first by molding a fiberglass back piece from the existing door panel metal. then, i used large blocks of the green floral foam, and just started cutting and sanding. they melt like butter under 80 grit and a sanding block, so it's easy to get a nice shape. i just wish i could've started with an even bigger foam block so i didn't have the gaps. i did manage to keep them from coming through when i glassed it though. the next step after finishing my shape with the foam (this is not the finished pic) was to cover it all in aluminum foil so that the resin didn't just get sucked up.
