Should i sand the plastic pieces first and then cover with resin and about 2 coast of glass? and then sand again and then primer and then final paint coat? I have a little bit of an idea but need someone to lead me on how to do this. Thankyou

Why do you want to cover them with fiberglass? Are you wanting to change the shape or do you just want them to be black? You can primer and paint without the need for using any fiberglass.

hey erickbkny28, thats a pretty nice start up on that clips* man. keep us posted with the final pics. and to AJRXtreme, if what erickbkny28 suggested isnt what u want and u just want it black then go buy some sem interior dye. about 9 bucks and no sanding or priming. works great for a simple color change.

Once you make your mold for a box, make your rings, and wrap it. Do the layers of glass go on the outside of the box or the inside?

I want some parts of the dash to look glossy black and mirror like. The inside colors are going to be tan and black. So I hear i should use a thick coat of primer and then paint it. Is this correct?

If your looking for a glossy finish this is what I would do.

1. Remove all parts that you want to paint.

2. Sand all texture off the plastic pieces, start with a 400 grit, 600grit, 800 grit..til the pieces are smooth.

3. Clean the pieces with a prep cleaner... This will remove dirt and oil from the pieces.

4. Primer all pieces with a high built auto primer.... This will fill in any little holes in the plastic.

5. PAINT

a. If you have the money.. use auto paint, DON"T use any hardener, use a  flex additive.

b. If you don't have the money. Make sure you buy a paint for plastic. (remember these plastic pieces bend very easy, you don't want the paint to crack.)

6. CLEAR

a. Again. if you have the money.. use auto top coat clear...NOT HARDENER..

b. If you don't have the money use a clear coat for plastic.

*** MOST IMPORTENT IS TO MAKE SURE ALL YOUR PAINTS WORK WELL TOGETHER***

IF NOT.. THE PAINT WILL CRACK AND CHIP, AND IT WILL LOOK LIKE S@#T

if you are using an automutoive clear, use that hardener. always use the hardener. a flex additive can be added. i have painted a lot of plastic and have used flex additive fery little. there are plenty of clears that remain flexible when cured. the one that comes to mind is house of kolor ufc-35. the one i use all the time is sherwin williams ultra 7000 645hs and refinisher's select 6010. all stay pretty flexable when cured and i have never had an issue with them cracking when flexed.
