Can anybody give me a simple explanation of how to wire a start button for a 1998 dodge neon, or instructions in general? Thanks!

ok so the pic didnt' even post in the first message, ok, so anyways, computers hate me, , BUT to tell ya what you need to know, the diagram up there is explaining how to do it JUST for a starter buton, if you need ignition switches just add the same thing (another relay) same connections with the power wire, you can use just one fuse as long as you keep all the power wire and starter / ignition wire pretty big, like 10 / 12 ga. something like that..

anyways, you will take the positive from your ignition (it will be a red or pink with black striped wire), fuse it first, 30A. then run it to BOTH the 87 and 85 pins of the relay (keep the bigger gauge going to the 87, you can run like 20 gauge wire to pin 85)

then take the output (pin 30) of the relay and run it to your starter (or ignition) wires, the starter wire is yellow, you have two ignition wires (dark blue and black with an orange stripe) you also have an accesory wire for your heater and such which is black with a white stripe..

then you need to get a switch (i'd use a momentary push buton for the start wire, or just a regular switch if you are doing some for the ignition) connect one side of the switch to a ground sorce, and connect the other side to pin 86 of your relay.. this wire doesn't have to be very big at all, 18 20 ga. will work fine..

in this set up you have power going to your relay at all times, but it isn't activated untill you give it ground threw your switch and then it will suply power to the output wire..

that should be enough info for ya, if you need any more help. post, and i'll repost, haha, have a nice new years
