Im struggling right now with ideas for a set up for my subs an amp. I have 2 12" mtx thunder 8000's powered by a kenwood 1000 watt amp. they are in a box right now. but the box slides around my trunk and its just a pain in the ass. although the box is extremely good I dont like they way it looks. I have a 97 eclipse and have been playing around with the idea of getting a 3rd sub ( the same) and get a little bigger amp or 2nd one and have the sub inverted (like pointing into the box) and have my amp/amps sunken into the box covered with a piece of plexiglass. i want the box to be molded to the trunk... made out of fiberglass and mdf. im just not sure on a set up that would look and sound good. if anyone has an opinion that would help please post it. thanks
is this a showcar? adding more subs so a non show-car will look cooler is like buying an airplane to get free peanuts. it will work, but there are better ways to do it. what about just building a finerglass enclosure for the two existing subs and amp? you could even put both of them facing backwards if you like looking at magnets. if you are asking oppinions, (as i assume you are) my vote is dont ad more subs, just new box. good luck. keeep us posted.
oh well i forgot to add... im making this car a show car. its my first bug project. the interior is going to be completely re done in black white and cobalt blue. i think im going to go with 2 subs. but whats a good lay out. I was thinking of making them parralell with the rear window??
