did youmake sure you will have enough room for the basket to fit down in the holes and not hit. they look pretty close. if you havent checked you might want too

It will be painted grey but darker than the seats, The 3/4 inch strip that the rings are mounted to was needed to bring it out so the side of the magnet did not hit the back of the box, they fit nicely ther not too close to the back of the box to cause cancelation.  But I did not check to see if the two outer speakers magnets will hit the sides of polyester, should be an easy fix if they do.

looks cool. is this a show truck or are you just using the "why put that many subwoofers into a truck? becasue you can" theory? either way, i like it. keep the pics coming!

Wow, that's a pretty big undertaking for your first time! Looks good so far. I'm just getting back into installing. I've done some fiberglass body work but never done any boxes. What kind of fabric are you using and where do you get it?

show truck, no it is my everyday ride I first wanted 2 12's under the rear seat in a downfiring box but didn't like they way they sounded at all so I deceided to build a box that would only fit while the rear seat was up then after 6 months deceide that looked kind of stupid so I added 2 more.

I second fastone's comment about this being a huge project for your first time. It's lookin good. Are those 4 subs going to share a common chamber? Only a few of the pics showed up for me, and I couldn't tell if you had put in any separations.

some of the pictures didn't show up becuase I posted them wrong, yes it is all 1 common chamber all 4 subs will be powered by a single bmf crossfire1000d. The amp mounts are going on front just below the subs but I didn't have time to finish them yet, me and my friend can only work on the box in our spare time which isn't much we both work 60 hours a week.

I am open to hear any tips or suggestions.  Any creative ideas on where to mount 2 distribution blocks? I think I ran out of room to mount them on the box.

wow, that thing is huge!

Looks good, especially for your first try, and all I am doing for my first project is the PS2 in glovebox, I feel so ashamed of myself now...

ok I mixed up a half gallon or resin to start out with I added half of the bottle of hardner which was recomended on the resin instructions and after 1 and a half hours it was still not hard it was tacky so we let it sit over night the temp was kind of low would that cause it? Will it be like painting while it is damp it will never dry just stay mushy? any tips would be great. And yes I thouroughly mixed the hardner.

If it is cold you will need A LOT of MEKP, or harderner.  Where did you get your resin?  They should have individual packs of harderner you can buy.  I will use both the bottle's of harderner that come with the resin plus sometimes 2 more when I am glassing during cold weather.  I am sure Wal-Mart carries the individual MEKP in the area where they sell bondo and stuff.

Also, this is a HUGE box.  You will have to sell your truck to afford all the mat and resin you will have to use. I am going to suggest Cabosil (Aerosil).  It is a powder substance (kinda like grinded up mat) that you mix with resin and it turns into a thick substance (like peanut butter).  It takes about 80% less time and resin, and can get your enclosure as strong if not stronger than multiple layers of matting.  Not to mention, it will leave you with a fairly smooth surface to prep on the outside, because cabosil goes on the inside of the box.  Good luck, and the box looks great!!

thnx guys, I have already bought more than enough mat 90 feet by 4 feet I will probaly need more resin they gave me 1 bottle of hardner and there are directions on the rsin that say 1 bottle of resinn per gallon of resin, it did say you could use more if it is cold.  I will go buy some more tomorrow. Thnx I saw another thread about cabosil I will go check it out.

Are you going to secure your box into place.  I know that because of the size of the box it may not seem that it will move but you might want to take that into consideration.  I know that it's kind of late to think about this at this point but if you decide to screw it down so that it wont slide in case of an emergency you can probably do braces on the side of the box.

Can someone delete that post  I don't know what happened to it

I am 99% done with the fiberglassing and there is not that much sanding to do,

I guess I found a trick I used very large pieces of mat that covered a whole side and cut it to fit that way there are no uneven places it stayed very uniform.

Instead of using small strips like paper machette.

I have a gallon of rage gold I am not sure what my next step is once I am done sanding do I apply rage gold or do I use bondo to build out some of the low spots first? Then apply rage gold? Or is rage gold and bonde the same?
