Has anyone ever sanded their gauge needles to get rid of that ugly orange color.  I want to do it to my s10 so that it will look really good with reverse gauges. Comments???  Thanks

uhh, wow, I dont think I've ever heard of doing that. I thought it was treated plastic and not just some little over coat but if it is I guess it would work. Option B would be to pain them lol.

Alright 01extreme this is what they did to my the 7thgencivic's on my forums,  they took the needles off and then they rubbed them with alcohol to remove the coloring and they retinted them to make them blue and also to glow blue.  I dont know if this would work with a chevy but its worth a try, you can always go to a junkyard and buy some more.

if you sand them, they will be very scratched. have you ever tried sanding clear plastic b4? I did once and spent several hours trying to make it clear again with little luck. btw it was the visor of a motorcycle helmet. i advise against it, but if you decide to go through with it, GL.

making clear plastic clear again isnt too hard, i used to make eyes n stuff for wooden things out of plexiglass and i've also cleaned up my plastic speedo cover which was somewhat pitted and gross.  after u sand it relatively smooth, u just sand it a bit finer so there arent any deep scratches and buff the scratches out with an electric buffer and some green honing compound (theres probably other stuff but this works great) and it only takes a few minutes..u just want to watch that u dont burn in too deep or u will have a mess.
