im tryin to add another 15 to my system for a total of three and total SPL. i have priced custom enclosures in every car audio shop in my city and the prices are crazy. i wanted to get suggestions and info on building my first sub box. i took the measurements of my trunk and the subs would be able to fit in a squared hexagon shape. im not a expert wit carpetry but i have took a wood shop course. one question i do have is in the box i have now my subs are seperated by a wood wall. this is a purchased box. with the shape idea i currentyl have i dont think i would be able to install walls between every sub. it would jus be a box wit air space between subs. what do i lose, or pros and cons of these different procedures. please help....... ------------- 2005 Ford 500 SEL. 3 Kicker CVR 15"s. 2000 watt Quantum Audio AMP.

I would separate each sub, even if I had to cut the airspace a little to do it. If you will lose too much airspace it would be a bad idea to even try to go with 3 subs. (IF) you are going to run all 3 off of a mono amp you COULD do this. Personally I don't build them like this though.

SPL has a lot more to do with box design than # of speakers or really even the power of the speakers. i dont compete in SPL so i cant help you much with box design, bt i hope you can find someone who can help you before you waste money on new subs and be dissapointed at the 3dB gain of that new $300 subwoofer.

If you can't separate the chambers, at least go ported to help prevent the subs from fighting each other in that enclosure.

If you can't separate the chambers for a sealed box I doubt you will have enough room for a ported box, unless you just use 2 subs in it. A ported box for 3 subs would be huge.
