I have a 91 Toyota pickup and was thinking of trying to make some fender flares, after I saw how much it would cost to buy lol.  Has anyone ever attempted this or have any suggestions on how to get started?

I've done it. Its hard. Really hard to make from scratch. I would tell you to buy some and mod them to what you want but you obviously do wanna do that. If you can find ANYTHING that is close to the shape you want, use it as a mold. Once you get some sort of shape you can just get creative from there. Thats gonna be the easiest way to do it.

Fender flares attach to the body and extend your fender for protection/looks.

Here is a link click the pic to enlarge. Unfortunatly i have no experience with making them, but i hope this pic helps everyone understand what hes after.

I've seen a few people do it over on the fibreglast forums, I suggest you sculpt the shape you want out of foam and lay the glass over that.

I don't know the name of it, but it's the green that flowershops use, if you go to wal-mart **shiver wal-mart** and go in the craft section you should be able to buy it, its just a green crunchy foam

You may already know this but it may save you some time re-making your foam shapes. Resin will eat that sh*t like it ain't nothin'. Make sure you cover it with tape / foil / something.
